Why We Always Closed Eyes Sneezing?
Cause people sneezing all kinds, can be due to allergies, dust intruding or the flu. But almost certainly when sneezing all eyes closed and highly improbable sneeze with your eyes open. Why people can not sneeze with your eyes open?
In medical terms sneezing is 'sternutatory reflex' which is a reflex that makes one sneeze. Sneezing is an activity that is positive because it has a clear function of the pharynx (the cavity between the nose, mouth and throat).
Although it looks simple, sneezing is one of a very complicated body action. Technically, a sneeze is produced when the contact with irritants in the nasal mucosa to stimulate the trigeminal nerve. Later can stimulate the pons and medullai in the brain that in turn trigger additional nerve reactions.
During a sneeze, as quoted from Theregister.co.uk, Friday (08/27/2010) will place tremendous stress on the body, important enough air pressure lies in the eye.
The additional pressure is not going to make your eyes fall out or get out, but it will make your eyes feel uncomfortable. So that person will reflexively closes his eyes while sneezing as a form of protection.
Besides the encouragement when someone would sneeze affect various organs of the body including the abdomen, chest, neck and face.
When sneezing or stimulation impulse will run through the face of someone who also causes the eyelids to close or blink. The response is automatic or can not be controlled.
There were many myths circulating about sneezing and so this is just because of the myth behind the rumor, namely:
1. In ancient times many people believing that a person's soul is made of air and inside the head. Hence sneezing is considered as an activity that will drive a person's soul.
2. In medieval myth circulating that says that just a little sick can cause death, so people assume that the sound of a sneeze is something that is scary. And people trying to protect his nose from an illness or death.
3. Today some people believe that the heart would stop when a person sneezes, it is a myth. Presumably this myth developed because when sneezing chest expands, the pressure is released by the awakened and kemduian chest. This pressure change can cause changes in blood flow that cause changes in heart rhythm.
When someone sneezes, then the mucus or foreign objects in the mouth and nose will come out with a speed of 161 km per hour. Therefore the public should not have to suppress a sneeze, because there are certain dangers that can occur if the sneezing is held.
